![]() Welcome to the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin Rapids Area home on the web. Since 1970 the League's purpose has been to promote informed and active participation of citizens in government. While the League studies and then takes action on a wide variety of governmental issues, it is firmly nonpartisan; it supports neither candidates or political parties. Membership is open to all men and women and visitors are welcome and encouraged to attend our events and discussions. Come, observe and participate. On this site you'll find useful information every citizen should be aware of along with pertinent information about us and what we are doing as well as information on how to contact us and join us. VOTER HELPLINE AVAILABLE IN OUR COMMUNITYA Voter Helpline is now available for citizens in the Wisconsin Rapids Area and surrounding communities who have questions or need assistance with the voting process. Our main emphasis is to act as a witness for an absentee ballot when no alternatives are available. Reach out by calling 608-285-2141 and leave a message with your contact information and your question or request. A local volunteer will get back to you within 24 hours. Evers and our state League's position on not holding group events, we am asking that any group events that were scheduled for presentation will need to be cancelled. This includes the panel discussion on redistricting slated for March 19 at the library, and the voter forums on March 25-26. Watch this space for any changes, as they seem to occur daily.
