Since 1970 the League's purpose has been to promote informed and active participation of citizens in government. While the League studies and then takes action on a wide variety of governmental issues, it is firmly nonpartisan; it supports neither candidates or political parties. Membership is open to all men and women and visitors are welcome and encouraged to attend our events and discussions. Come, observe and participate. Upcoming ElectionsFebruary 21, 2023 is the day of the Primary Election in Wisconsin. To see if you are registered to vote and who is on your ballot go to: http://myvote.wi.gov Click on What’s on my Ballot to find out the specific individuals running in the Primary. Primary Candidate Interviews Wisconsin Rapids Community Media will air interviews of candidates who are running for public office prior to the primary election on February 21. View candidates for the Wisconsin Rapids School Board at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, and 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3. View candidates for the Port Edwards Town Board at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and 7 p.m. Thursday.
